Gamers Increasing Weekly Physical Activity by Nearly 90% with Karta’s New App

London, UK — 21 January 2026 — Karta has launched D2 Health Club, a first-of-its-kind health app for gamers, and early data shows it's working. Users who actively engage with the platform are walking the equivalent of 25 football fields of additional steps each day, with the most committed averaging 3,400 extra steps per day — nearly 90% above their usual levels.

D2 Health Club uses familiar gaming motivators such as competition, community, and rewards to encourage movement. Users can set daily step goals, and those who consistently reach their weekly goals can win in-game currencies for popular games, such as Fortnite, Valorant, and League of Legends. Users can also join crews led by gaming content creators. One of the first to invite their community was Valorant esports host and prominent content creator, Yinsu ‘Yinsu’ Collins:

‘Knowing my community, and how competitive they are, I knew they would be all over D2. But I must admit I was still surprised by how much they improved and just how many of them would write in my chat, talking about getting their steps in and asking if I was proud of them. Heartwarming to say the least.’

Recent research indicates that gamers spend an average of 51 hours per week sitting, with roughly half of that time dedicated to gaming. While long periods seated or lying down can contribute to chronic and later-life health issues, this early data illustrates that gaming communities are receptive to increasing physical activity. 

Erik Londré, Founder of D2 Health Club, says:

Gaming brings people together like nothing else, but even the best things need balance. I think all gamers recognise that feeling after a session that went on just a little too long. ‘Touching grass’ isn’t just a meme; getting up and moving your body is essential for both our mental and physical health. Seeing the data and hearing from players who are actually finding that balance because of D2 means the world to us.’

Between 12 October 2025 and 3 January 2026, following the launch of these first creator-led communities, D2 analysed anonymised Apple Health data from users who actively engaged with the app’s core mechanics.

Among users who meaningfully engaged with D2:

  • 76% walked more than their own historical baseline, based on a 12-month pre-D2 Apple Health median
  • The median increase in daily steps was 30%
  • This equates to roughly 2,100 additional steps per day

For our more consistent users, the effect was even stronger:

  • 87% exceeded their historical baseline
  • Averaging over 3,400 additional steps per day

The data suggests creator-led communities reach gamers with historically low activity levels rarely engaged by traditional fitness apps, and that these users are disproportionately represented among D2’s top performers.

NASCAR – The Glen: A Mega-Sized Rocket Racing Experience

In recent weeks, Karta launched NASCAR – The Glen, a brand-new Rocket Racing map inside Fortnite inspired by the legendary Watkins Glen International track.

This isn’t just any racing map. We’ve scaled it up into a mega racing adventure — with oversized woodland trails, huge jumps, tricky campground obstacles, and floating track sections stretching across Seneca Lake.

Once again, we’re proud to team up with NASCAR to push the boundaries of how real-world brands connect with Fortnite’s passionate community. And this is only the beginning — more exciting projects are on the way.
